ATTENDANCE:

Approximately 70 residents, members and committee members were present.

PREVIOUS MINUTES: Accepted.

AGENDA ITEMS:

Meet the Candidates

(Ms. Amber Hawkins - ALP; Ms. Kirsten Lovejoy – Greens; Cr Vicki Howard LNP.)

The purpose of the agenda item was to allow all three candidates for Brisbane City Council Central Ward to outline their positions with respect to Teneriffe issues should they be elected/re-elected.  Each candidate was allocated three minutes for this process.

Following this, the President asked each one (in random order) to reply to questions which had been compiled prior to the meeting from the concerns of Teneriffe residents.  Each candidate was given two minutes for this process.

The committee considers that it would be inappropriate to précis the candidates’ responses to the questions, as we could not ensure accuracy.  However should members wish to review these questions and answers they were recorded and are available on request.

Annual General Meeting

The AGM was held following the ‘Meet the Candidates’ agenda item.  Roger Armfield stood down as Treasurer and Michael Fritschi was elected into the position unopposed.  All other committee members remained in their respective positions.  The financial report was deferred until the next meeting to allow the new treasurer to reconcile accounts.

The meeting was closed at 8.30.

Next Meeting:  Wednesday 16 March 2016.  7pm Railwayman’s Shed, 29 Macquarie St, Teneriffe.
